Whether you’re Irish or Irish at heart, you know that St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland, and March 17 is the day when people throughout the world celebrate his legacy with food, drink, song and parades.

Starting with the O’Danny Boy Bash on March 2, Spokane will “get its green” on with celebrations, a fabulous parade, live music, delicious Irish fare and adult beverages shared with good friends. In short – Spokane is a great place to celebrate St. Patrick! Here’s our suggestions for going green in Spokane this year – enjoy!

2nd Annual O’Danny Boy Bash

The McGinnity Room is proud to host our 2nd annual O’Danny Boy Bash –Spokane’s premier event kicking off the St. Patrick’s Day Season. This year’s proceeds benefit 2nd Harvest. Join us on March 2 from 6 to 11 pm. Tickets are $15 here, or $20 at the door while supply lasts.

Spokane St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Get ready for Spokane’s 40th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 17, 2018, sponsored by The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. According to the groups Facebook page, “Regardless of race, creed or color, everyone has just that wee bit of Irish that comes out in full spirit, whether you’re a dyed-in-the-wool Irish person or just Irish-for-the-day, this is one event you won’t want to miss.” http://www.friendlysonsofstpatrick.com/

Spokane’s Signature Irish Pub

You don’t have to wait for St. Patrick’s Day to enjoy authentic Irish comfort food and a “pint or three” of Guinness at O’Doherty’s, an amazing pub that brings rich Irish drink and food traditions to downtown Spokane. O’Doherty’s offers everything from Tullamore Dew whiskey steak and Guinness fish and chips to Irish stew, shepherd’s pie, and more. Here’s hoping you’re just lucky enough to be there when a jolly patron stands on the bar and sings for the honor of sticking a dollar to the ceiling!

Join the Irish Drinking Team!

(Warning, not for the faint of heart, but sounds like a wee bit of fun!): The Irish Drinking Team is an all-day, St. Patrick’s Parade Day Pub Crawl on Saturday, March 17 that kicks off at 7 am, then winds its way through selected bars and pubs in downtown Spokane. Want to join? Just buy a jersey on their website and you’re in. You can drop in or out and join the group any time.

A Traditional Irish Dinner

Republic Brew will serve up a traditional Irish Dinner from 4 to 8 pm on Saturday, March 17. Last year’s menu included corned beef, colcannon, soda bread and apple barley pudding. Then stick around for a live performance by LazyLove, a talented local group that performs jazz, blues, rock, folk, Americana, and more. Reservations STRONGLY recommended.
